Richglen Maintenance Services is a Central Queensland-based maintenance contractor delivering safe, efficient and cost-effective maintenance solutions across the mining and resources sector.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Shutdowns team in Mackay.

This is a senior leadership position with overall responsibility for the successful delivery of assigned shutdowns and projects — from planning and preparation through to execution, commercial management and close-out.

You will lead Superintendents, Supervisors and project teams, work closely with key clients and have accountability for safety, quality, schedule, resources, commercial performance and project outcomes.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Manager – Shutdowns, you will provide strategic leadership across major shutdown and project works throughout the Bowen Basin.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning, execution, control and close-out of major shutdowns and projects

  • Provide leadership, direction and support to Superintendents, Supervisors and project teams

  • Maintain overall accountability for project safety, quality, schedule, resources and performance

  • Manage project budgets, costs, forecasts and commercial outcomes

  • Review estimates, pricing, variations and commercial opportunities

  • Monitor project scope, schedule and resources and implement corrective action when required

  • Identify and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle

  • Lead planning meetings and ensure project teams are aligned on scope, schedule and deliverables

  • Manage contractual obligations, variations, claims and project documentation

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key client representatives

  • Act as a senior point of contact for operational, project and commercial matters

  • Identify opportunities for repeat work and contribute to the continued growth of the Shutdowns business

  • Lead project and shutdown close-out meetings and ensure lessons learned are captured

  • Mentor and develop emerging leaders within the project and supervision teams

  • Maintain a strong safety culture and lead by example

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a proven senior project leader who can operate confidently in a fast-paced mining and heavy industrial environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Significant experience in coal mining, heavy industrial maintenance, shutdowns or project environments

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and major shutdowns from planning through to completion

  • Strong commercial and financial management skills, including budgets, forecasting, variations and cost control

  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, resources and competing priorities

  • Strong client relationship and contract management experience

  • Proven leadership experience managing Superintendents, Supervisors and multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong technical and trade knowledge

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

  • A proactive approach to problem solving and risk management

  • Strong understanding of safety, quality and compliance requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mining Supervisor qualifications – S123 & G2

  • Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering or similar qualification desirable
