Faced with the need for a dedicated maintenance model to support critical dragline assets across a large mining operation, Richglen was engaged to establish a field maintenance workforce capable of delivering responsive, day-to-day maintenance support where it was needed most.
The challenge was significant.
With just six weeks' notice, including the Christmas shutdown period, Richglen was required to recruit, mobilise, onboard and prepare an entirely new workforce ready to commence operations from day one.

The result was a fully functioning maintenance workforce mobilised and operational within an exceptionally compressed timeframe.
Built From the Ground Up
The project demanded more than people.
It required the creation of an operational maintenance base from scratch.
With limited information available during mobilisation and temporary facilities in place during the early stages, the team relied on experience, adaptability and strong planning to establish the operation quickly and effectively.
Richglen supplied the tooling, workshops and supporting infrastructure required to keep crews productive and responsive from day one, including generators, temporary facilities, lighting infrastructure and specialist equipment.
As the operation matured and permanent facilities were introduced, Richglen's electrical team completed the wiring, lighting and electrical installation works, helping establish a purpose-built maintenance hub to support ongoing operations.
This wasn't simply a workforce mobilisation.
It was the successful creation of a dedicated maintenance operation.

Across the life of the contract, Richglen mobilised approximately 25 team members working across multiple crews, supported by supervisors and dedicated project support personnel.
Together, they delivered more than 43,000 maintenance hours supporting critical mining assets and helping keep operations moving.
The project also created opportunities for apprentices to gain valuable exposure to large-scale mining environments while supporting ongoing workforce capability development.
Like any successful long-term operation, the team evolved over time. New people joined, others progressed into new opportunities and different challenges emerged along the journey.
